    Tutors

    • Certified Teacher: $44.18 per hour
    • Certified TA or tutor with 60 college credit hours: $25 per hour

    Transportation Receptionist

    Duties of the Transportation Receptionist

    1. Directing incoming calls to the appropriate personnel within the Transportation Department.
    2. Recording and conveying telephone messages accurately to the designated employees of the Transportation Department.
    3. Utilizing computerized information systems to retrieve student data and promptly inform the relevant Transportation Department staff.
    4. Assisting in scheduling and arranging appointments for relevant personnel as needed.
    5. Managing the distribution of incoming mail within the department.
    6. Ensuring the organization and maintenance of departmental files for efficient record-keeping.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    • Proficiency in computer operations.

    Head Cook

    A Head Cook is the daily supervisor within their assigned building.  Responsible for maintaining a compliant commercial kitchen according to local health department regulations.  Understand and have working knowledge of mandates and regulations set by U.S.D.A. Child Nutrition.  Be able to adhere to directions given by the district’s Food Service Director.

     A Head Cook is required, on an annual basis, to obtain all professional education credits and attend all individually assigned and district wide mandated meetings and trainings.

    Primary Work Activities

    • Prepare and cook food for serving by following recipes and/or manufacture recommendations for preparation of food.
    • Cook, hold, serve and store all food items according to safe food handling practices.
    • Order and have ready all food items according to planned menus.
    • Assist with kitchen deliveries, checking in items, and assure receipt of supplies by signing all invoices and/or packing slips. 
    • Maintain a clean and orderly supply room, refrigeration and freezer units.  Follow local department of health and HACCP regulations for safe food storage.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen, supply room, refrigeration and freezer units.
    • Monitor the working operation of equipment of food service equipment. Report any deficiencies to the Food Service Director.
    • Assist in washing dishes, cleaning of cafeteria tables, serving lines, preparation areas, dish rooms, dry store room and refrigeration units as needed.
    • Record operational and production data.
    • Assign daily tasks, supervise and direct all workers who assist in preparing and serving meals, monitoring their progress before and during meal service.
    • Train existing and new employees as needed.
    • Arrange for coverage of staff absences and notify the Food Service Director of the absence.
    • Anticipate problems, where possible, and recommend solutions to the Food Service Director.
    • Understand and be able to complete all functions of cashier duties. 
    • Ability to accept direction and clarification of instructions from the Food Service Director.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Good Working Knowledge of: The principles and practices of large quantity food preparation, menu planning, purchasing, sanitary food handling and storage, modern cooking utensils, appliance and equipment.

    Ability to: plan and supervise the work of others, keep records and prepare reports, order food and supplies in proper quantities, ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions, physical conditions with the demands of the job.

    Physical Requirements

    Constant bending, twisting, lifting and pulling.  Ability to stand for long periods of time.  Normally does not work at heights above ten feet. Normally does not lift any object weighing more than fifty pounds.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High School education or equivalent. 
    • Minimum of two years’ experience in the preparation of food on a large scale in an institution or school.
    • Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience in the food service field, school district preferred. 
    • Working knowledge of child nutrition regulations and mandates in schools.
    • Understand and be able to practice local health department regulations.

    Schedule

    September through June, with potential for up to 8 working days in August. School breaks are non-working days.

A cleaner is responsible for the effective performance of standard cleaning tasks and techniques, which follow a well-established routine. Cleaners play a vital role in making our schools a clean and orderly place for students and staff. The work is done under the general supervision of a higher level cleaner (Crew Leader) and/or custodial supervisor (Night Supervisor). Requirements: a High School Diploma or GED.     Teaching Assistant

    Have you ever considered becoming a teaching assistant? Teaching Assistants work to support our students and teachers throughout the day in many different ways. This is a certified position where you would need to meet the following requirements:

    • Have a HS diploma
    • Take 2 courses online (one is free, one you pay for). Financial assistance may be available.

    Job Title: SCHOOL SECURITY AIDE

    POSITION CLASS DEFINITION:

    This position involves responsibility for maintaining order and providing general security for all occupants of a school building and includes the safeguarding of school district property in cooperation with a variety of school district personnel.  Responsibilities include patrolling school premises, enforcement of the School District’s Code of Conduct, and establishing and maintaining a setting that is safe and secure.

    The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the School Principal with administrative supervision provided by the District Superintendent.  Supervision is not a function of the position but the incumbent may be assigned to direct other employees in providing security.  The incumbent does related work as required.

    PRIMARY WORK ACTIVITIES:

    Typical activities characteristic of the class.

    • Provides for the safety and security of students, staff and visitors to school buildings within the district;
    • Maintains order and compliance with the school district’s code of conduct, policies, rules and regulations in conjunction with appropriate school district staff;
    • Conducts in-classroom educational sessions and training regarding drug abuse prevention, school safety and other topics of interest/importance as needed;
    • Circulates in the hallways, restrooms, cafeteria and patrols school grounds, etc… to preserve order and protect property;
    • Prevents unauthorized visitors from entering school buildings and/or loitering on school grounds and provides general information to visitors on premises;
    • Advises school administration of circumstances and/or situations with the potential to threaten school safety and security;
    • May assist in handling emergency situations and/or disciplinary matters;
    • Confers with the principal to develop plans and strategies to prevent and/or minimize dangerous situations on or near the campus or involving students at school-related activities;
    • Notifies appropriate law enforcement agency and/or fire department in case of an emergency at the school;
    • Keeps records and prepares written incident reports as needed;
    • Participates in related in-service training sessions including first aid, conflict resolution, safe schools etc…;
    • Performs related duties as required by the building principal and/or designee to ensure a safe school environment.
